About:

My work explores ideas of belief, social justice, and hope, seeking to platform female-identifying experiences and marginalised voices.

The work I create is well-crafted and visually striking, always utilising opportunities for physical, musical and visual storytelling within a text. I love theatre that is playful and embraces theatricality. I have a keen eye for the heart of a story and am skilled in building stage pictures that deliver great storytelling. I particularly love working with texts that employ magical realism, comedy, or musical theatre.

I work regularly with new writing at all stages of development from conception through to final production and really love working dramaturgically with a writer or creator to understand their idea and bring it to life.

My practice is defined by generosity, humour, collaboration, and skill under pressure.

I have been working in theatres across Scotland for over a decade, creating work at a variety of scales and in various roles. I have also worked as an associate and assistant director for many brilliant directors at theatres including the Lyceum, Traverse, Dundee Rep and National Theatre of Scotland.

With Amy McKenzie I lead Braw Fox Theatre, a vehicle for our creative projects and productions.

In my day to day life I can usually be found holding a cup of coffee while haunting the playgrounds, soft plays, cafes and -on more cultured days- libraries and museums of Edinburgh with my three young kids.
